Retirement Planning

Retirement is the time of life where you choose to do what you like to do best. So, planning for this important time is essential. The good news is that, on average we are living longer, so have more retirement to look forward to. The bad news, of course, is that it means that our money has to last longer!

How you plan for retirement will be based on numerous factors, not least the resources available to you now, how you see your lifestyle in retirement, the anticipated effects of inflation and what type of investment vehicles you plan to use. The availability or otherwise of State benefits is another consideration that is sometimes overlooked.

People often equate retirement planning with pension funds, but we consider that a diversified approach which also includes other investment formats, such as ISAs, property, stocks and shares as well as cash deposits is the best way to get the required results.

Despite recent legislation aimed at simplifying this area of planning we find that many people still consider it to be something of a minefield. We aim to make it easier to navigate by giving clear and concise explanations, listening to the needs of our clients and putting together a realistic plan.
